Not many books throw the main character into the action pregnant with twins. Even worse, whose babies are they? Poor Alpha Rylie has found herself in this weird predicament. I love that the rivals for her love and progeny are brothers who have love for each other, often to their own detriment. And will these twins be pups or human? So many questions yet so much to do!Meanwhile, Rylie's aunt is now a zombie. And Cain, the rotten apple from Abel and Seth's mother, is raising--well, Cain! Add to all that the care of a pack and Rylie's got trouble!
This was another quick exciting read that had me up til the early morning. I had to know what was going to happen, and the action didn't quit until that last page. No, it wasn't a cliffhanger. Even so, I have made myself not read the next book until I write this so I won't be confused again. SO--Read this series after Summer of the Moon series and enjoy!!

I LOVED this book! After reading the first 4 in these connected series and then "The Cain Chronicles" series, by far this one is my favorite. There are so many little details in here that you really have to pay attention too though. That's what I think on of the best things about this book is. The detail. SM Reine made sure she described Rylie's relationships and the hardships of becoming a parent, especially when you don't know for sure who the father is. Your boyfriend or his werewolf Brother. I would recommend this to people who like werewolves, romance,mystery, and a extremely well written book.

Rylie goes through hell when she learns she is pregnant and not sure who the father of her babies are from, Her love Seth or his brother her mate Abel. She soon learns the truth of the paternity. And now is on the run cause THe OPA will take her babies away from her, Cain wants them to be with him and train them to be evil like him. Riley gives birth in fear of her life but makes to safety to be found by Abel while she is full labor. She gets to hold them long enough to see them then has to fase to wolf in order to survive she is bleeding bad. Must read to get more.

SM REINE--You can't and won't go wrong with any of her books. Just breathtakingly incredible. You will fall hard for the characters. You develope with them; no one is a superfly superhardcore entity on the onset! It's like you, through the characters, are constantly testing your abilities to cope and love and grow with change. Bravo. I've read every single one and not a bad one in the bunch. The Cain Chronicles and Season's of the Moon--wow (I truly haven't been this ingrossed and expectant reading a series since Harry Potter). The Decent Series and Ascension Series--truly apocalypic in nature--made me think!
This is probably my favourite book of all times. Even from the very beginning when Abel was first introduced in the seasons of the moon and was a rather insignificant character, I always had a thing for Rylie and Abel, and is so excited that the two of them are finally going to be together. Though there are lots of difficulties on the way and there are times where you just want to throttle the characters for putting themselves, or their pack, in danger for such stupid reasons, this book is so captivating that once you begin reading, you can't help but to devour the book. Though I was disappointed at the end at how Rylie and Abel got to miss 20 years of their children's lives, I guess that was sort of inevitably coming since the whole "other dimension" thingy.
This is by far the best of all the Cain Chronicles and maybe the best of all of Rylie's story to date. The story is fast paced and exciting. I didn't want to put my down because I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen next! Love, drama, mystery, werewolves, silver bullets, pregnancy, love, sibling rivalry, and so much more! SM Reine is that kind of writer who gets you hooked from the beginning and leaves you wishing for more when it's over.
I know some didn't care for the direction it went, but it made sense to me. Seth was Riley's first love, when she was young. If she had never been bitten, he would have been perfect for her, but Riley with the wolf just wasn't going to work. Once it was known that packs are run by two alphas, I really couldn't see any other way for this to work, at least in a YA novel ;)
I would have liked to see more of the children and Abel and Riley's relationship, but still good. I would have also like to have seen Brody survive. I really liked his character. Some reviews made it sound like the children were born as adults. This is not true at all. Overall, this is a good series and I'm glad I stuck with it.
